Hamid Pourshojae, DO
Hamid Pourshojae, DO, is a Board-Certified General Surgeon with surgical interests
in the areas of bariatric surgery, colon and rectal surgery, gallbladder surgery,
hernia problems/surgery and treatment options, and minimally invasive surgery.
Dr. Pourshojae received a degree in Biology from the University of Maryland in
1992 and his Doctorate Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University of
Medicine and Biosciences in 1997. He followed his Medical Degree with a
Transitional Internship at the Peninsula Hospital Center in Far Rockaway, NY and
remained in Rockaway and completed his Residency in General Surgery.
Dr. Pourshojae brings to the Northern Virginia area an unparalleled level of
expertise and knowledge. His background in academia, research and private
practice bring a well-rounded and comprehensive level of care to his patients. In
addition, he utilizes the very latest surgical techniques in Bariatric surgery.
The Northern Virginia Magazine and the Washington Magazine have both recognized
Dr. Pourshojae as one of the areas “Top Doctors”
Dr. Pourshojae is a Fellow with the American College of Surgeons, the American
Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery, and the American College of Osteopathic
Surgeons. He also serves on Potomac Hospital’s Physician Advisory EMR and OR
Committees.
