Washington, D.C.-NSAA continues to seek the support of key Members of the House Physician's Caucus and Ways & Means Committee for CMS and Department of Labor recognition of Certified Surgical Assistants (CSA's) as an integral part of the country's health care workforce.
NSAA's Washington representative, Dave Gencarelli, is working with the association's Government Affairs Committee chairman, Daniel Baird, to relaunch regulatory efforts to have CSA's added to the list of medical taxonomy's recognized by CMS. Work done by NSAA on this issue should inform the current effort and help to assure that non-medical Members of Congress understand the critically important role that CSA's play in operating rooms across some fifteen heavily populated states from Texas to Virginia and Illinois to DC and Maryland.
